From the Desk of B. Starr: Marketing Maven, Brand Strategist, & More

When I launched Cassius Blue Consulting in 2012 I chose the title “Marketing Maven” because a Maven is a sharer of knowledge and my goal was to share my extensive knowledge with my clients and social media followers. This title worked, because it was catchy and articulated what I did. But like all businesses do, I have evolved. Although I realized that my business has evolved, I didn’t give any thought to a new title. It wasn’t until a long-time client said to me “Brandi, have you thought about the title ‘Brand Strategist’? You are not ‘just’ marketing, you do so much more and your title should reflect that.” I gave it some thought, did some research on how others define what a ‘Brand Strategist’ does and realized that she was right! And like any good nickname, a moniker given to you by those that know you best (in my case my clients) means so much more than one thrust upon yourself. Although I did not embrace being called ‘Ears’ as a kid, and only allow my grandma to still call me ‘Peaches’, this title I shall embrace… Brandi Starr, President and Brand Strategist, Cassius Blue Consulting {I like the sound of that, now to be diligent and change it all around the web.}

 

So for those of you just tuning in, not sure what I do? Let’s look at the role of a Brand Strategist…

 

In a nutshell… As a Brand Strategist I offer insight and proactive thinking to help you develop a winning strategy, effectively market to attract your ideal client, and turn the ‘undecided’ into paying customers. I help my clients to:

  • Set gutsy business goals and generate brand-building strategies and ideas to achieve goals.
  • Identify the best target customers to grow the brand; along with their wants, needs and motivations.
  • Develop marketing plans and sales strategies to drive revenue.
  • Identify customer touch points, and develop a plan to create a positive end-to-end customer experience.
  • Identify the most important benefits and messages for key audiences of the brand.
  • Make pricing recommendations to improve profitability.
  • Identify ways to systematize marketing and sales processes to improve efficiency and avoid owner burnout.
